War Thunder: Spitfire Mark II - Finally cracked it!
0Upon purchasing the first two Spitfire planes available in War Thunder, I was not impressed with either of them (i.e. the Marks I and II) due to their ridiculously poor roll rates whenever the planes were travelling at velocities of over 300km/h. However, having persevered with the planes, I can finally say that I think I have cracked the technique required for the Mark II in Arcade mode.
This Arcade Mode battle at night on the map Alpine Meadows demonstrates this, where I try to keep the plane's velocity under 300km/h in order to guarantee the impressive slow-speed roll rate that the Spitfire should have. Hence, the dogfight ability of this plane improves immensely with the roll ability. From there, it was just a case of keeping my opponent close, which I fail to do when I try to chase a Typhoon as he comes out of his dive.
