Warframe Best Mining Spot Fortuna.Before players can begin mining, they must first acquire a Cutter from Old Man Suumbaat in Cetus for Ostron standing or a Sunpoint Plasma Drill from Smokefinger in Fortuna for Solaris United standing. Players must then equip the mining tool on their Gear menu to be able to use it.

However, the Sunpoint Plasma Drill is superior to the Nosam Cutters: it is the only one that can mine Very Rare gems, includes the features of other cutters, can be upgraded, and can be purchased earlier than most other cutters as it does not require any Syndicate standing rank upgrades. It also has the slowest drill progress, making precise timing easier. It does, however, require at least 2500 standing with Solaris United to be able to purchase, which could involve multiple bounty missions to get to. A quick way around this: get the most basic Nosam Cutter in Cetus for the much simpler 500 standing (which you should easily have after having completed the storyline mission there), then head to Venus and mine some quick gems that can be traded in for standing, and immediately buy the Sunpoint.
