Wargaming models and tools - Lion Rampant - Norman army with Wargames Atlantic and Victrix figures
Still doing gaming videos when I play some video games, but also adding some tabletop wargame content to the channel and starting with this introduction the simple and popular Lion Rampant rules. The hardcover 2nd edition rulebook is beautiful with lots of pictures of models, cool historical paintings, example army lists, and ideas for expanding the game.
To play Lion Rampant you will need a copy of the rule book, available from Osprey Publishing https://www.ospreypublishing.com/us/lion-rampant-second-edition-9781472852618/
You will also need some dice and a ruler or measuring tape in inches for these Warhammer scale 28mm figures, or in centimeters for epic scale 15mm or 6mm figures.
If you want to buy models, there are a lot of kits available in these scales from different companies. I am using historical 28mm kits from Wargames Atlantic and Victrix Limited. You'll probably want some calvary, some ranged units, and some infantry.

Some general guidelines for building an army in Lion's Rampant: These rules work for historical settings of about 400-1500AD. Other similar rulesets exist for other historical periods and scifi or fantasy. Typical armies are 24 points for a large table game but larger and smaller games are possible. Most units also have upgrades that can be bought for the last few points you may have.
Archer units of 12 models are 4 points
Skirmisher units of 6 models are 2 points
Calvary units of 6 models are 4 or 6 points
Infantry units of 12 models are 1 to 4 points
Elite Infantry units of 6 models are 6 points
