After hearing about this Advance Wars inspired game, I decided to pick up Wargroove to take small breaks from my Final Fantasy playthroughs to change things up.

If there's one thing I heavily criticize about this game though as you will see later: Damage Variance. Like in Advance Wars, damage varies a small amount, so a 20% could possibly do 15% or 25%. However, in Advance Wars from what I can recall, if you attack an enemy that the game says is a sure kill (100% damage to a 100% hp unit or a 20% to a 20% hp unit), that unit will always die. Frustratingly, Wargroove does not do that, so that 100% atk on a 100% unit could undershoot to 95%, leaving you screwed over.

Putting that one gameplay aspect aside however, this is a real fun game and I can't wait to see it through once I make it through some more FF games in my FF marathon.
