My dear friends, I have the immense honor and joy to inform you that the Emperor of Mankind has now a voice in a Dawn of War mod and that I was the one having the honor of voicing him! He will appear as an Avatar unit in a Legio Adeptus Custodes mod more precisely.

For those familiar with the Warhammer 40K universe, I suppose I do not need to tell who the Emperor is but for those who are not, it is very simple: the Emperor is an immortal being with tremendous psychic powers (he was the first Psyker by the way). In the 30k period, he ended the Age of Strife and founded the Imperium of Man, the largest and most powerful empire ever created by Men. An empire grown so large that it counts countless trillions of lives in it. Unfortunately, the Emperor died physically during the Horus Heresy when he had to slay one of his sons, Horus. Mortally wounded, he had no other choice but to remain seated on the Golden Throne on planet Terra (the Earth) in order to keep his soul intact and to Watch over Humanity after his physical death. This demanded an enormous of life support systems and the sacrifice of a thousand psykers each day. Now, he has risen from his ashes and he is ready to rule Mankind properly again and to lead to a new golden age! (at least for the mod he is featured in). Since the Emperor was a very important character in the Warhammer 40K universe, I had to give him a special treatment on how to vocally convey his Identity. So I thought about improvising stories of his past based on what I read about his biography and recorded on my microphone like some kind of personal audio diaries. I also took the liberty of inventing a character that the Emperor might have known: Ateia. Ateia was a woman that the Emperor knew since childhood in his home village. He fell in love with her but once he killed his uncle to avenge his father, he fled the village, leaving Ateia behind to never see her again. This was his first and most gut-wrenching regret. I suppose you have noticed that he also has a specific accent. This was actually on Thudmeizer's team demand: they wanted the Emperor to have some kind of Middle-Eastern/Eastern European accent because of his origins (he was born in the Anatolian part of Turkey). I was so invested in this character that I even improvised some lines you will find here. What a great adventure it was for me to bring this character to life with the voiceovers, it is perhaps my greatest achievement for Dawn of War modding VOs (given how many lines I had to record for him too). It was an honor giving a voice to Mankind's greatest leader.

ENJOY!!!
