This run had a much better early game and some good segments, but there was still some annoying timeloss. Beating zipped WR without zips is looking somewhat possible, but we'll see how far I'm willing to grind first.

The Wario Land 4 100% speedrun requires beating the game with all CDs and gold crowns for each level.
Gold crowns are simply an medal for getting 10,000 money at the end of a given level, which mostly comes from the gems and coins you can collect, but also factors in each heart you had at the end of a level (50 per heart = 400 additional money for leaving with full health). Some levels are full of gems and diamonds that are easy to route in, while others require a bit of sacrifice to get. Interestingly, the first level is the hardest to get 10k in, due to being the shortest level and not having lots of extra collectibles.
Getting all gold crowns rewards you with a new karaoke mode in the sound room, which allows you to listen to an arrangement of Medamayaki (the BGM for Palm Tree Paradise), change the pitch/speed, and turn the vocals on or off.
