00:01:00 Macbook A2338 that has come back because it stopped working shortly after being received. This one was always an uncertainty. Prior work involved replacing the CPU current monitoring circuitry which is a common failure point on this model with liquid damage. Other problem is that the original tech "washed" the board of the liquid damage so we never quite knew where the liquid had spread over.

Turns out it's possible that the USB-C cable flex might have been a bit damaged, so that gets replaced.

00:38:30 Macbook A1707 returned after apparently "not working" after it was received back; this one is a shocker, looks like someone over-torqued a cross-threaded battery power connection bolt and snapped it clean off. Definitely not a warranty job and a whole new battery required.

A big waste of time and an even bigger reason why all repairs are recorded (YouTube or not) so that I have evidence to check back on the work done before (I've checked, and the screw was installed normally prior to departing).

02:23:30 Fixing up the compass sensor on the workbench. For months I've had an intermittent dropout of the compass sensor that is used to determine if the microscope is stowed or active; tonight it dies completely (data), leaving me with PCffffffffff in the data stream meaning "We've got no i2c data boss!".
