Liu Shan Ex attack basically destroys everything in its path or sets up enemy generals for combo abuses. Shan special attack is also incredible for the simple fact no enemy can lay a attack/take damage from him for a few seconds which is very useful in serious battles.

Almost all of his attacks can set up musou spam which another words you can uses his musou over and over the best bet would be uses his ex and follow up with any combo and take it from there.
