Was Barriss Offee a Member of the Hidden Path? | Star Wars Explained
4One of the more interesting theories to come out of Tales of the Empire is that Barriss Offee was a founding member of the Hidden Path, or at least a part of it to some degree. First introduced in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, the Hidden Path was a secret underground network that worked to shelter Jedi and other Force sensitives from the Empire, smuggling them to safety and giving them new identities. Although the final episode doesn’t go too in depth into what Barriss is doing on this icy planet, it looks very similar to what is described here. A family comes to her on the run from the Empire with their Force sensitive son, and while Barriss confronts the Fourth Sister hot on their tail, her associates lead the family off planet to a secure and trusted location. It’s unclear where we’re at in the timeline right now, so it’s difficult to say whether Barriss was one for the first members of the Path, but nevertheless it does seem like she has become a Hidden Path member after deserting her life as an inquisitor.
