If you grew up in the eighties, chances are you liked SUPERMAN III. After all, it had Superman fighting Superman! But, if you revisited it anytime since then, well, you'll know that it's kind of a disaster, for the most part. In this episode of LOVING THE 80S, we dig into the history behind the misbegotten entry which, to be sure, still isn't the worst film in this franchise (both SUPERGIRL and SUPERMAN IV: THE QUEST FOR PEACE would be worse). We explain why Christopher Reeve didn't want to do the movie and was almost replaced by Tony Danza, how director Richard Lester saved the day, and why the movie is essentially a Richard Pryor comedy.
