All kidding aside, but if you going to Siggraph 2017, check out Occipital at the VR Pavilion where they will be showing off BRIDGET, the Bridge Engine and their own Bridge VR headset made specifically for the iPHone 6(s), 7(s) and the upcoming 8.

The demo was done with the SDK for SceneKit demo with a couple tweaks. In the future, you will be able to actually interact with the the augmented characters.

What Bridge Engine over ARKit? The Bridge Engine allows for pre scanning for occlusions and lighting. This allows you the AR object to navigate around real world objects as well throw shadows. Occipital creates a realistic parallax for stereo realworld viewing based on this depth information as well. Creating depth that is lacking from other in camera VR viewing systems.

I would not be surprised that in their upcoming upgrade the incorporate some of ARKit low level functions to allow for better graphics performance as well sensor free tracking.
