Even without the bound, 'cave skip skip' seems to be faster! what a revolutionary strat! as the finder of 'cave skip' (https://youtu.be/gAB06ioJuNM), huge job well done to Karyru for finding this amazing discovery!
I have a theory that we might be able to reach a later pillar, more closer to the final orca, but we'll certainly need to test things out more to find a solid answer. Alternatively, we could maybe try to hit the final lighthouse or mountain behind it, although that would bring its own set of challenges to overcome (such as sonic getting from tails-island to the end section trigger without gems)
I always wanted to launch from the first loop to the end section trigger, but even with the second loop, i still think its a bit unrealistic, since going past the wall of invisible collision is, while doable now, simply impossible to stop sonic from rising, going higher than the other side of the invisible collision that we'd need to hit to land on the end section trigger.
Still, with this new discovery, who knows that else this could lead to!
