Is mankind alone in the universe?
This question bothers us all the time.
We always wonder if there exist other intelligent beings looking up into their night sky from very different worlds and asking the same kind of question.
Perhaps civilizations more advanced than ours exist, maybe they have achieved interstellar communication and overcame the problem of interstellar travels.
Maybe they also had to deal with a climate crisis, and they managed to survive.
This, and a lot more, is what we aim to discover during the next years.
In order to do so, METI international is sending a signal towards TRAPPIST-1's system. Meti is a group of scientists, sociologists, historians, anthropologists and artists who think that we should keep sending messages to aliens.
Let me tell you what TRAPPIST-1 is, and what's their plan to communicate with aliens.
So, the news is a radio signal is being sent on the TRAPPIST-1 system. Who's sending it? Us. Who's receiving? We hope someone, or something, other than us, could.
But what' exactly Trappist-1, and did we choose it as an ideal target?
