CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ALMA OBSERVATORY
ALMA is not a telescope since it is not made with lenses but with antennas, ALMA is classified as an astronomical interferometer or radio telescope made up of 66 gigantic high-precision satellite dishes, these are divided into two sizes: 54 of them are 12 meters wide and 12 antennas are 7 meters wide.ย The total collection area of this matrix is more than 71,000 square feet.
