We busted the biggest golf ball myth - stop playing 'Tour' golf balls!
Looking for a golf ball for a good player? Or a golf ball for a slow swing?
Golf balls really do impact your performance. And if you're playing a "Tour" golf ball, chances are you're losing out in the distance and spin department. We kinda knew you probably wouldn't believe us, so put together a test to prove our point.
We put the Titleist Pro V1X golf ball up against the new TaylorMade Tour Response and TaylorMade Soft Response golf balls.
We hit 10 shots with driver, 6 iron and wedge, taking out the bad hits, and took a look at ball speed, distance and spin.
The results are pretty interesting.
There are some major differences between these products regarding the covers of the ball and the compression.
If you want to learn more about the technology we use to test and the accuracy of our numbers, take a look at this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dagr2c38YCs
It's important to note we take no advertising money from any golf brands (unlike most other media outlets). We are a self-sufficient indoor golf simulator venue in central London.
Golf is an obsession for all of us that work here, and we're passionate about informing golfers on equipment and some of the myths that are popular in our game.
