It's only in recent years, thanks to more sophisticated satellites like the European probe Venus Express, launched in 2005, that clues hinting at ongoing Venusian volcanism have been discovered. Among these are temperature and brightness variations in specific surface areas, suggesting recent or ongoing eruptions. Additionally, volcanic gases such as sulfur dioxide, which have a short lifespan in the atmosphere, have been detected, indicating a continuous supply from an internal source.
However, these are just hints, and no concrete proof!
