Resident Evil was developed and published by Capcom in 1996 for the PS1 and PC (Japan only but later in the US in 1997.), Sega Saturn, and Nintendo DS (2006). The game was later released again in 1997 as Resident Evil: Director's Cut and Resident Evil Director's Cut Dual Shock Ver. in 1998. The game was directed by Shinji Mikami.
