I knew one of the boys from Team Simple would find a way to save retail....

Datafield42, Henk's ingame map downloader utility.

This will prompt you ingame to download custom maps you don't already have the map.rfa for, directly into the appropriate levels folder. However, it will not download map patches (mapname_001.rfa) so you can't use it to get into "CSM" vanilla maps or copy "SSM" changes to a vanilla map. It will not install mods such as desert combat or pirates. But to my knowledge it does support custom maps for mods.
