a mix of kills mostly with my static (only the MO is pug because we do CM) where i tested the new catalyst setup. now my honest opinion on this is that

on the one hand it feels fresh to try a new combination, catalyst has been always locked to hammer since it's eod release and it finally has a different option that gives you the opportunity to try new stuff. it is cool to see how catalyst traits interact in this scenario since they all play around with combos. also it is much easier and it is clear that most people had trouble picking up hammer catalyst before. hammer is still my favorite weapon in the game on catalyst though

on the other hand where Anet missed the mark with the weaponmaster training is that it was obviously gonna create situations like this where one weapon set becomes the best in slot for every build. in which case that is sword/warhorn. in my opinion it needs a nerf, both sword and warhorn skills. which is also gonna affect every tempest build which is kinda sad. but catalyst doing above 45k isn't really balanced atm. alternatively if they wanted to hit catalyst specifically, they could further nerf the sphere coefficients since that is something easy to manage that every catalyst build shares and at the same time buff hammer. hammer in my opinion should be either equal or higher than sw/wh. how they can buff hammer? there are 2 simple things that will increase it's damage output: 1) make triple sear and molten end fire fields. what hammer currently lacks is persisting flames stacks. if with that change it could average 3 more that would already be 3% more dps. triple sear already looks like it drops a fire field so i don't see why it can't happen and for molten end it doesn't have to make much sense thematically, just make the slam errupt lava when it hits the ground and call it a fire field (similar animation to lava font). 2) increase the orbs' coefficients. i know the orbs have been a sensitive issue for a long time and went through multiple buffs and nerfs but making the coefficient 0,05 from 0,01 would already be something
