Both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez failed to make it out of Q2 in qualifying for the Brazilian GP because Lance Stroll brought out a red flag right at the end, when both were on their fastest laps. Lando Norris, by contrast, vaulted from P11 to P1 in the same period. The difference? The Red Bull drivers lost their opening laps due to heavy traffic; Norris, who had been at the front of the pit lane queue, enjoyed a clear track. Perez complained afterwards that his team should have turned him around faster - but was he correct in saying so? Peter Windsor looks at the numbers.
