Kevin Durant’s decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and join the Golden State Warriors created a domino effect, and the next domino to fall, we would think, is Russell Westbrook. Multiple options lie ahead of the Thunder and GM Sam Presti. The Thunder can trade Westbrook and rebuild, trade Westbrook for a potential superstar to build around that is not at the PG position or wait and see if Westbrook wants to return to the Thunder next season, when he becomes an unrestricted free agent. According to sources close to Westbrook, he was “hurt and angry” that Durant left the Thunder without even giving his teammate a phone call, after supposedly telling Russ that he would be back to make another run at the title in 2017.
