His 1m 29.9 Q3 spectacular eclipsed the best laps of the two Mercedes drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas, and leaves him nicely poised for his third win of the F1 season (and ready to receive at least some compensation for the one that got away in Baku). How do Red Bull and Mercedes face-up in race trim? And what of Ferrari and the other major contenders? Peter Windsor takes up the story.
