WHAT ABUSE IS THIS? SEASON 2
Series based around a fictional narrative in which three characters – represented by marionettes – hang out together and discuss the main themes related to sexual abuse. Teacher Elvira, health worker Damião and housewife and artisan Neusa – the least informed of the trio – find themselves “learning” about abuse during the course of each episode. The three of them live in the same street, and episodes always begin with them sitting on a bench watching children play in the playground. The trio converse and comment on issues in a way that serves to “draw out” the program’s themes. The children remain unseen throughout the whole of each episode: it’s as though they are “behind the camera”. They only appear right at the end of the final episode, close up in the foreground. The stories recounted by the three characters lead to flashback sequences representing things they’ve seen or experiences they’ve lived through. These flashbacks are realized in shadow puppet form, showing only the silhouettes of the characters.
Beyond the fictional drama with the puppets, the series includes the testimony of specialists and presents important and complementary data that helps to deepen its treatment of the content. At the conclusion of each episode a caption promotes the use of Disque 100, a telephone helpline.
QUE ABUSO É ESSE?
Série baseada em uma narrativa de ficção em que três personagens – feitos em bonecos marionetes – convivem e discutem sobre os principais temas relacionados ao abuso sexual.
A professora Elvira, o agente de saúde Damião e a dona de casa e artesã Neusa, a menos informada do trio, que vai “aprendendo” sobre o abuso no decorrer do episódio. Os três moram na mesma vila e sempre iniciam os episódios sentados em um banco, observando as crianças brincarem em um tipo de pracinha. O trio comenta sobre assuntos que servirão para “puxar” os temas. As crianças não serão vistas ao longo de cada episódio: é como se elas estivessem “atrás da câmera”. Somente no fim do último episódio elas serão mostradas, em primeiríssimo plano. As histórias que os três conversam rendem flashbacks de experiências que viram ou que viveram. Estes flashbacks são realizados com teatro de sombras, aproveitando apenas a silhueta dos personagens. Além da dramaturgia com bonecos, a série traz depoimentos de especialistas e apresentação de dados importantes e complementares, que ajudam a aprofundar a abordagem do conteúdo. Ao final de cada episódio, uma cartela informa sobre o Disque 100, estimulando seu uso.
