In the second Letter, we are discussing the beginning of the Cosmere as we understand it. Long ago there was a for or God called Adonalsium. It is unclear what Adonalsium was, but we have learned that the force was shattered into 16 pieces of Fundamental Creative Power. These shards were picked up by those who were present at the Shattering, effectively becoming Gods themselves. They left, settling on other worlds and establishing people and cultures at their whims.
Now we are living in the worlds they set up. But something is wrong. The Shards have become slaves to the Powers they took command of so long ago. Some have been twisted by the power and now seek to destroy everything. What can mortal man do against Gods who seek to destroy everything end everyone they love?
