Sid Meier's Civilization is celebrating it's 30-year anniversary (birthday?!) this year and Civilization 7 is hot on everybody's mind, but Civ 6 also continues to dominate the charts and broader historical strategy and 4X strategy genre despite having a 5-6 year old release date. Civ 6 has received fantastic post-launch support from additional DLC packages and patch updates, although it did in my opinion take a while to really get rolling following the Civ 6 Anthology, the civ 6 rise and fall and civ 6 gathering storm dlc packs, and various other bits and pieces introduced through the New Frontier Pass as recently as mid-2021.

Following Humankind game's release since my last Civ 7 review and wishlist video, there are a lot more things to consider about Sid Meier's Civilization vii! In this video I reflect on the hopefully age-old question - Humankind vs Civ. But this time, I'm discussing how Civ 7 can learn from Humankind - meld, merge, steal, borrow - whatever you want to call it, there are some gameplay features and aspects on Humankind, from era stars, fame victories, better combat, and a more interesting world, that future strategy games like civ 7 could use!
