A few weeks ago, the Xbox team tested out the beta for the new update for free to play games to officially not need Xbox Live Gold. Today, Microsoft confirmed free to play games to officially do not need Xbox Live Gold. In the past, Xbox Live Gold is required for all games including the ones which are free to play on other platforms such as PlayStation and the Switch. Though Fortnite and Warzone are considered "Free to Play Online Games" for not requiring a subscription on other platforms to pay, in order to play it on Xbox, you always needed to get Xbox Live Gold in order to play the Free to Play online games. However, now that Microsoft announce that free to play games officially do not need Xbox Live Gold, Fortnie and Warzone would be free to play and do not need Xbox Live Gold. Now what could Microsoft do now that free to play games officially do not need xbox live gold? Since Microsoft is a trillion dollar company, they could possibly make it that every multiplayer game officially do not need Xbox Live gold.
