I've got a bunch of purslane scattered through my raised beds. I didnt plant them but they sure do like growing here. Purslane is a wild edible and quite a healthy treat. It looks kind of like spurge, which is poisonous, so be careful. I dont have any spurge growing near my garden so I cant give you an example, but the best way to check is just pick off a piece of the plant. If there is a milky substance oozing from it, DO NOT EAT! That is spurge. If the plant leaves are glossy, have a four-leaf star shape, and there is no milky substance, it is Purslane.
