What Happens When Games Look Real?

There is a violence subtext here, and maybe that is part of an answer. Sort of the inspiration as well, of what happens when games look real like actually shooting other humans only it is a video game that looks really real.
I had a wierd realization for the first time some time ago playing BFBC2 Vietnam using the Mack 10 or M10 sub machine gun. At a close distance it really rips apart the other player. Had a similar realization watching the bad guys walk away from the back of the truck and figured I would put together this video and ask. What will future games look like? Will they be silly with player characters wearing armor like in Halo or what?

fast forward this video to 1 minute 50 seconds to see the M10 and at 2 minutes you see the difference when he uses a pistol. The first 2 kills he gets show the pretty brutal gun at work.
Really going to want that fun old school Socom game without the bullshit.
