Cloud 9 is an Esports organization with teams in League of Legends, Call of Duty, Counter Strike, Hearthstone, Super Smash Brothers, Halo, Smite, and Heroes of the Storm.
C9’s story starts in 2012 when Quantic Gaming drops their team due to bankruptcy so the team goes under the name NomNom then Cloud 9 with Nientonsoh, Hai, Yazuki, Wild Turtle, and LemonNation they don’t qualify for NA LCS so Nientonsoh and Yazuki leave.
In 2013 Meteos joins, WildTurtle leaves. Quantic Gaming reacquires the team, Hai, LemonNation, Meteos, and Balls leave to start Cloud 9 adding SneakyCastroo to the roster and get Kingston, iBuyPower, and Cooler Master as sponsors so they can survive. Cloud 9 places 1st in NA LCS Summer, 1st in MLG Winter Championship, 5th in League World Championship, Dan Dinh joins as coach, Alex Penn leaves, Jack Etienne buys the team for $10k and starts building a diverse Esports empire.
In 2014 Cloud 9 places 3rd at IEM World Championship, 1st in NA LCS Spring, 2nd in NA LCS Summer, 1st in IEM San Jose.
In 2015 Cloud 9 places 7th in IEM Katowice, 2nd in NA LCS Spring, 9th in League Worlds, and 5th in IEM Cologne. LemonNation moves to staff, Incarnati0n, Rush, and Bunny FuFuu join.
In 2016 Cloud 9 leads with Balls, Rush, Jensen, Sneaky, Hai, and LemonNation as head coach.
C9’s Counter Strike division starts in 2014 when C9 acquires Complexity Gaming’s CS GO team with Hiko, N0thing, Semphis, SGares, and Shroud. C9 places 5th in ESL One Cologne, 1st in HTC Reborn, Hiko leaves, ShahZam joins.
In 2015 Skadoodle & Freakazoid join, ShahZam, Semphis, and SGares leave. C9 places 2nd in ESL ESEA Pro League, 2nd in Electronic Sports World Cup, 2nd in Faceit Finals, 3rd in CEVO Professional, 1st in iBuyPower Cup, and 1st in RGN Pro Series.
In 2016 Stewie2k joins and Cloud 9 leads with n0thing, shroud, Skadoodle, Stewie2k, and “who runs around in underwear? Freakazoid, Freakazoid.”
C9’s Dota Division starts in 2014 when C9 acquires Speed Gaming’s roster of EternalEnvy, SingSing, Bone7, Aui_2000, and PieLieDie. Fata- joins, SingSing leaves.
In 2015 BigDaddyN0tail and Misery join, Aui_2000 and PieLieDie leave. C9 places 9th in The International 2015 so they drop the team and acquire team Dark Horse with players Ritsu, Brax, MSS, SVG, 1437, and coach Loomdun then Ritsu is let go.
In 2016 Cloud 9 Dota leads with Brax, MSS, SVG, 1437, and Eternal Envy.
C9’s Smash Brothers Division starts in 2014 when Cloud 9 acquires player Mango and places 1st in EVO 2014 and continues to lead the division in 2016.
C9’s Hearthstone Division starts in 2014 when Cloud 9 acquires Dogehouse roster and in 2016 leads with Kolento, StrifeCro, EK0P, and Massan.
C9’s Halo Division starts in 2014 when C9 acquires The Agency roster and in 2016 leads with Victory X, FearItSelf, Hysteria, iGutUrPistola, and Ninja.
C9’s Call of Duty Division starts in 2015 and continues in 2016 with players Burnsoff, MerK, SiLLY, and Mochila.
C9’s Smite Division starts in 2015 when C9 acquires COGnitive Prime and in 2016 leads with Baskin, Andinster, MLCSt3alth, JeffHindla, and Barraccudda.
C9’s Heroes of the Storm Division starts in 2015 with players K1Pro, KingCaffeine, Arthelon, iDream, and DunkTrain who go on to win the first Heroes of the Storm World Championship and continue to lead in 2016 with the same team.
Cloud 9 a diverse organization with a stake in every game.
