What is it like to Visit the Zoo in 2020 after Lockdown? Exploring the New Forest Wildlife Park!
Visiting the zoo can be both fun and educational, but what is it like nowadays after lockdown? Come along with me, as I go to the New Forest Wildlife Park, Southampton, UK to see what is it like to visit the zoo in 2020!
With zoos reopening, I was keen to show my support of collections that have worked tirelessly to keep a high standard of care for their animals. I wasn't sure how the experience would change after lockdown, so I wanted to explore it for myself!
While each country has various laws regarding social distancing, the zoo I visited made it clear and easy to follow the rules for the UK. They implemented a one-way system around their collection, and put friendly reminders to keep a safe distance from others.
All staff we interacted with, were pleasant and excited to welcome us back safely to the park, which really made the whole experience worth it. We even got to see a keeper feed the pine martens, which was really amazing!
If you're considering visiting a zoo, I encourage you to look at their website and prepare yourself for what changes they've put in place to keep everyone safe. While at the New Forest Wildlife Park, visitors did obey the rules which made it enjoyable for everyone.
Some of the animals we saw are:
0:00 Introduction & Entrance Procedures
0:52 North American River Otters

1:57 Red Foxes

2:48 Fallow Deer
