5A few years ago I started learning the 3 note per string system and then I moved into using the CAGED system for arpeggios. Nowadays I use both CAGED & 3NPS together alongside of always thinking about note relationships to the root. This has been a long complicated process but the guitar, and music in general, is just complicated and spending hours of time learning how to process all the information will always take years. There are some things that can speed up the process but the goal should always be to have fun along the way and try to enjoy the journey where you are.
