What Is The Best Weapon In Yet Another Zombie Defense HD?
218When playing "Yet Another Zombie Defense" I often only use sniper rifle as I feel it is the best weapon in the game (except for the chainsaw, of course).
The sniper rifle has a good fire rate, decent damage, and ammo is inexpensive. The weapon itself is also inexpensive which means you can pick up a rifle during the first few nights , and then collect ammo drops until you actually need it.
So for me, the sniper rifle is the best weapon in the game. However, I wanted to see if this is actually true, and what the performance is like compared to other weapons. Hence, I did a simple test. I checked out different weapons at night 14 always using the same setup. That is, two weapons mounted on advanced turrets, surrounded by 32 wood and 46 steel barricades.
The amount of the mobs and strength is always the same, I assume, however I suppose the mobs spawn and attack randomly. So I realize that this test might have a few flaws. However, i think it still gives a good indication of weapon performance.
The results were interesting!
1. The sniper rifle seems to be a very good weapon indeed! However, turns out, the rocket launcher performs very similar, if not better. It has much slower fire rate, and ammo is expensive. But it has a lot more punch, which means less ammo is needed and mobs get killed faster, and you need to replace less barricades afterwards.
2. I had no idea the tesla coil would perform so bad in the test. I was never a fan of the tesla, but always believed it's a good weapon. I repeated the test with the tesla 2 more times and always the two teslas would fail. On top of it, it seems to be the most expensive weapon when looking at cost/kill ratio.
3. I love using grenades in this game! Not just for fun but I noticed they are very useful. Turns out, grenades are even more powerful than I thought. From now I will invest in grenades even more! In fact, I'm thinking of trying a run and use grenades, landmines and barricades only until about night 14-16. Might save a lot of money!
