What more could you want in a Sonic game?
26It's been years since I've played Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, but after buying SEGA's excellent PC port that launched on Steam today I was able to get an "A" rank after just a few tries on one of my favorite levels in the game- Metal Harbor.

If you've ever enjoyed a Sonic game but have been disappointed in the latest releases, or if you fondly remember raising Chao and goin' fast in SA2B I highly recommend you pick up this $13 re-release on Steam (or $20 on PlayStation Network). The game hasn't been 100% recreated in HD (which I'm glad for), but it runs in a 1080p frame at 60 frames per second easily, and there have definitely been some noticeable graphical improvements (ambient osculation) that makes it look a lot better than just a GameCube/Dreamcast port. Unfortunately there isn't a online multiplayer option for Chao battles/trading, which is a real missed opportunity.
Most importantly however, this port is immediately, naively compatible with a USB Xbox 360 controller. I don't even want to think about playing this with a KB/M.
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is widely considered to be the last good Sonic game (besides the handheld released, which have been pretty solid). Personally it is right behind Super Mario 64 as my favorite game of all time.
