Dead Rising for Java Phone - Full Game Playthrough

Dead Rising is a Java game released by Capcom Interactive Canada in 2007 and is playable on Java phones. It is based on the original Dead Rising and stays true to the sandbox design and plot of the original game, despite being pared down for the smaller screen and platform.

Gameplay
The player assumes control of Frank West from a top-down perspective and can explore the Willamette Parkview Mall. The gameplay style and overall action-adventure mechanics remain unchanged; the primary tasks involve collecting weapons, killing zombies, and completing the case file.

Plot
While still rooted in the Dead Rising narrative, adaptations have been made in certain areas.
Introduction
Frank joins Otis Washington in the Security Office to gather news. However, at the Security Office's entrance, Frank spots Carlito Keyes. Carlito provides no explanation regarding the situation in Willamette, leaving Frank to uncover the truth himself.

Venturing outside to the Entrance, Frank encounters a survivor named Russell Barnaby under zombie attack. Another survivor, Brad Garrison, directs Frank back to the Security Office to evade the zombie threat. Upon returning, Frank encounters Jessica McCarney, and Otis provides him with a map of Willamette.

Meeting Carlito
Following Frank's exit, Otis informs him about Brad's location in Al Fresca. Frank reunites with Brad, who hands him a handgun, despite Frank's reluctance to use firearms. Frank then confronts rival Carlito and emerges victorious, though Carlito manages to escape. Expressing gratitude, Brad proposes collaboration upon seeing a photo of Barnaby. The two return to Jessie, who reports having seen Barnaby hanging in Paradise Plaza.

Rescuing Barnaby
Frank and Brad rendezvous at Paradise Plaza and confront the kidnapper, Carlito. Despite their efforts, Carlito escapes once more, yet they manage to rescue Barnaby. Unfortunately, Brad is shot by Carlito during the confrontation, and Frank escorts Barnaby back to the Security Office.

Saving Brad
With Brad's life in jeopardy, Frank embarks on a quest to find medicine for him. He discovers that the Wonderland Plaza supermarket holds the needed drugs. However, the supermarket manager, Steven Chapman, accuses Frank and Isabela Keyes of attempted theft and attacks Frank. A confrontation ensues, resulting in Frank defeating Chapman. However, Isabela distances herself from Frank and accuses him of being a murderer.

Meeting Isabela
With the aid of the acquired drugs, Brad recovers, and Barnaby regains consciousness. Despite Jessica's suggestion to avoid questioning Barnaby, Otis alerts Frank to a woman on a motorcycle spotted near Seon's Food & Stuff. Investigating, Frank identifies the woman as Isabela, who initiates an attack. After subduing her, Frank learns from Isabela that her brother, Carlito, is injured. She reveals that Carlito's intention is to expose their actions to the public. Isabela arranges a meeting to provide further information.

Killing Barnaby
Upon returning, Jessie recounts Barnaby's story: his involvement as a scientist in Santa Cabeza, studying livestock breeding to address meat shortages. Tragically, experimental bees escaped, turning Santa Cabeza into a zombie-infested wasteland. Following this revelation, Barnaby received a summons to Willamette. As she continues recounting, Barnaby undergoes a sudden mutation, attacking others with flasks and crutches. In order to end this rampage, Frank is forced to defeat him.

Meeting Isabela again
Frank and Brad return to Seon's, where they find Isabela under attack. After rescuing her, Isabela shares that Carlito's actual plan involves causing a mall explosion to release zombies and wreak havoc on the United States.

Explosive confrontation
Following Isabela's return to the Security Office, Frank and Brad separately confront the bombs and Carlito. Frank locates and defuses all bombs across North Plaza, Food Court, Al Fresca Plaza, Paradise Plaza, and Colby's. In Paradise Plaza, Frank discovers Brad, who has been attacked and turned into a zombie. Frank is forced to kill him.

Finding Carlito
Upon returning, Frank hides Brad's fate from Jessie. While DHS is contacted, the government opts to bomb the area and withdraw the helicopter. Frank assures Jessie that his helicopter will return. Otis reveals Carlito's location—he has been taken to the slaughterhouse by butcher Larry Chiang. Accompanied by the two women, Frank confronts Larry, who attempts to entertain his "customers." However, when Frank intervenes to save Carlito, Larry becomes furious and attacks Frank.

Frank defeats Larry and is left with a dying Carlito. Carlito taunts Frank about the nature of zombies and the fate of the United States before succumbing. Isabela quietly utters "pachamama"—the mother of the earth.

Conclusion
Despite now knowing the truth, Frank, Otis, and Isabela prepare for the arrival of special forces and await helicopter rescue.
