Did you know that the first smartphone ever made was the IBM Simon? This device was launched in 1994 and had a touchscreen, email, fax, and other features that we take for granted today. It was designed by IBM and manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric, and sold by BellSouth Cellular in the United States. It cost $1,100 and weighed over a pound. It was also called a personal communicator or a PDA with phone capabilities. Watch this video to learn more about this amazing piece of technology history!
