I wanted to try something new and fun, something where I'd have to try to get over my reading problems, so I picked West Of Loathing :)

Apparently The Cows Came Home, literally, in a bad way, or something ....... o_O They need cow punchers out West, that's us, Dick Kickery, Cow Puncher! First we need tto leave home, we need to saw goodbye to Russell our bird, our mum and dad and our little brother Rufus. Our mum gives us a book on desert survival. our dad gives us our grandmother's brass knuckles .... Ok. We give Rufus a puzzle cube of his we found and go West with his kind reminder that we'll probably die before Christmas in mind.

After a wagon journey we end up in the town of boring Springs. Yay. The Boring Springs Saloon seems like a good place to start our journey and look for work as apparently meat is the currency and we have absolutely none of it. Inside we meet Pete who informs us that it's indecent not to wear a hat. A box by the door helpfully provides us with a Four-Gallon hat. Pete offers to help us out in future if needed :) Nearby we find a spittoon. A super close and unhygienic inspection reveals a nasty ring at the bottom, totally worth it!

The Bartender advises us to head to Dirtwater if we're looking for work but for now there may be stuff to do in Boring Springs, like getting rid of the goblin in the saloon basement. After punching the goblin in the basement to the death in combat we've earned out first meat! Back upstairs we meet Horace the town hostler, he runs B.S Horsery, he's our guy if we want a horse basically.

There's a forlorn looking woman drinking heavily in the saloon too. Her name's Susie and apparently she lost all her family in a cow attack recently :( Next it's off to meet the Sher/Sheriff. A gang called the Fricker Gang stole the door to his jail cell, he wants it back. He's willing to send his deputy along too. With Deputy Pistol in our bag (don't ask) we're good to go!
