When You Get Hit By That Monthly Rank Reset - Dead By Daylight
162The 13th of the month is when the ranks reset in Dead By Daylight, also known as the worst day to be playing killer if you're a low rank player.
This video features an older and somewhat outdated ranking system for DbD. Some mechanics might differ as well. The intention of the author of this video was not to bully or offend anyone. It shows how matchmaking used to be flawed and on the 13th day of each month, the pairing system for survive with friends would match SWF groups of high ranked players with lower rank killer players.
It wasn't uncommon for a group of Ochidoes (players who would bully low rank players similar to how the infamous Youtuber OchiDO used to do a long time ago) to torment and humiliate a new player with their basic understanding of the game's mechanics and easy tricks. On the video there's no such thing happening. It's a relatively reckless and wasteful chase from Kate Denson versus a Hillbilly that's not well accustomed with how to counter looping and pallet use.
No hillbillies were harmed during the making of this video. Although the Billy player got gen rushed, it was because of being paired against more experienced players. This was also before the cross platform update, and the DLCs were scarce.
The game shown is by the studio BHVR. It contains a hefty amount of downloadable content and skins you can buy or unlock with ingame points. They often spoil new clothing for the characters in the PTB files, as a form of letting the community dig into them and build the hype on the leaks they often post on Twitter or Reddit.

The goal of the game as survivor is to power up 5 generators, open one of the two exit gates or the hatch and escape. You can achieve that either by genrushing and relying on your skill with looping, timing flashlight saves properly, doing jukes like feinting window vaults or guessing whether or not the killer is going to respect a pallet. There are ways to extend the chase by using your skills in choosing the right pathing and dropping the pallets strategically or saving them up for later. There are many perks that help you confuse the killer, or counter certain game styles like camping or tunneling. Iron Will makes your character quiet while injured, Borrowed Time protects a camped survivor from getting downed right after getting unhooked and Decisive Strike punishes tunnelers. Other perks might help you locate and disarm traps or break hex totems, like Hex: Ruin or Hex: Undying which can be tought to spot otherwise.
Similarly, the killers have their own perks that can be unlocked for the bloodweb and used by any unlocked character if they get it on their bloodweb afterwards. Barbeque and chili or BBQ & Chili is one of the best perks for locating survivors after hooking their team mate, and it rewards hooking different players with bloodpoints, as opposed to tunneling and camping. It can be unlocked from the paid mini DLC Leatherface. Other useful perks include Sloppy Butcher for making the survivors stay injured longer or Stridor that make it easier to hear them. Whispers allows you to know if an immersed stealthy survivor is hiding nearby, as playing a hide and seek strategy with a Blendette character or an Urban Evasion Nea is also a very popular strategy.
