'In the Tub With' is a work in progress series in which I'll take a one off look at a game and it’s gameplay. I'll attempt to show off gameplay, the mechanics and provide some of my first impressions. It is in no way intended as a review but rather as a source of commentated gameplay footage for anyone contemplating spending money but would like to see it in action first. Ashen is the latest game to fall victim to my ‘In The Tub With’ treatment so please try and stick with me as I find my feet in this loose critique of Ashen and the Ashen gameplay.
Developed by A44, the Ashen gameplay is immediately familiar to fans of the genre. Ashen is a fun experience with easy to understand mechanics and so you may want to check out Ashen as the Ashen gameplay proves to feel competent. The Ashen gameplay seems to be inspired by other games such as Dark Souls but becomes unique through well utilised presentation.
Released onto the Epic Games Store on the 7th December 2018 the Ashen gameplay is fun and my first impressions are great. The Ashen gameplay is engrossing and you can't help but explore further into the strangely beautiful world and coupled with it's beautiful art style and voice acting I think it’s easy to see the game has a great degree of charm.
Ashen is priced at £35.99. In my opinion, there is enough content here to warrant a purchase with hopefully more to come. I can say, the Ashen gameplay is ultimately an enjoyable experience that has kept me engaged and wanting to see where it goes. From the Ashen gameplay video, you can see I’m only 30 or so minutes into the Ashen gameplay so who knows what other Ashen gameplay elements there are to discover so consider this if purchasing Ashen and you can get an idea of what’s in store by checking out this Ashen gameplay and first impressions video.
