Considering how much I like mecha (a close second to lizard and reptiles) it was a matter of time before I got around to building some Whisper mecha of my own.
Whisper is a line of resin robots that Impact Miniatuers distributes and prints. They wear their 80s Japanese real- robot influences with pride (as they should) but with a more modern approach to detailing.
Sadly these guys arrived right as the stay at home orders started in earnest and I wasn't able to borrow any of my brother's painted examples (although you can see his work on Dakka Dakka).
Of the original lineup I knew I needed a Tundra. I dig all its fins and thrusters. Still hope we'll see the variations on it like the Helix with the big cannon.
The Cutter was from the recent kickstarter, and while I like it, I sadly like the Kyzaghan more, but that didn't get funded, so I had to settle.
Not that the Cutter is a bad model, it's pretty neat and actually has more options available to it as well.
Cleanup wasn't too bad, but there were some spots on the Tundra I wasn't sure if they needed to be removed or were part of the kit.
These are the kinds of mechs I want to have available if the Lancer RPG ever ends up getting a skirmish game equivalent, but in the meantime are perfect for 15mm (or smaller) confrontations.
Hopefully we see the Kyzaghan in the future soon!
