Accessibility is about inclusion, making sure as many people as possible can use a product, service, or piece of entertainment regardless of any conditions, disabilities, or needs they might have.
Many Web and Instructional Designers adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent standard for Games Designers to use.
That said, accessibility's making rapid progress in the games space with The Last Of Us Part 2 and Spider-Man Miles Morales being recent examples of games making a concentrated effort to make themselves able to be enjoyed by anyone.
This video explores accessibility features in video games, especially around hearing, vision, and even touch! Hopefully, it helps empahsise why these options are important and should become standard expectations of all video game releases.
