Why Apple?

I can't seem to rationalize some of Apple's recent product decisions. Outdated TouchID modules on flagship iPads, camera humps, and a STANDARD DEFINITION FaceTime camera on a $1299 laptop? These decisions seem to suggest that Apple is willing to cut corners and skimp on quality, which is a stark contrast to the Apple of 10 year ago.
I'm really interested to hear your thoughts on this 'trend' so please leave a comment.
