Why Are Games Still Not Considered Art
0Video games have existed since 1958. But for some, so many people refuse to acknowledge it as an art form for one reason or another, by using very constrained definitions that twist the meaning of art itself. So in this video essay, I want to analyze some of the arguments that most of these people use to discredit games as art, by using examples of how games use cinematography, music, and other things that are considered art on their own. And how various games like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Elden Ring, and God of War Ragnarok, among others should be considered art. Because as you dive deeper video games are art and should be treated as such. So hopefully in this video essay, I can convince you that video games are art by analyzing the counter points made by people who disagree.
