Why Autistic people do Repetitive Motions?

If you know someone who is Autistic, you might notice that they tend to do these odd repetitive motions. Such as Flapping the Hands, Tapping the Head, Wiggling there Fingers, rocking and head banging, etc. Yet it appears that most people don't know why they do that. Well as someone who is diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome (a type of Autism), I'll give you my explanation as to why we do these repetitive motions.
