During hell’s greatest dad we see lucifer play a golden fiddle while battling alastor. This is a reference to the 1979 song by the charlie daniels band called The Devil Went Down to Georgia.
The song tells a story about the Devil's failure to gain a young man's soul called johnny through a fiddle-playing contest. The Devil, who claims to be a fiddle player, wagers a gold fiddle against Johnny's soul to see who is the better fiddler. Johnny ends up winning, and the devil hands him his golden fiddle.
As fun as this reference is, it raises the question of whether or not lucifer was trying to get alastors soul. We’ll never know since mimzy interrupted the battle, but it’s a fun theory nonetheless.
This song is also referenced in futurama, where the robot devil offers benders soul and the golden fiddle if they beat him in a contest. Instead leela beats the devil over the head with his fiddle and run off.
