Why do Adam and the Exterminators wear Masks in Hazbin Hotel?

One question people have had since the pilot is why do the exterminators wear masks and their outfits? Well i have a couple fun explanations.
The first is that wearing masks dehumanizes the villains of the story by making their appearance reflect their monstrous behavior. It’s a common trope in media to hide the face of a character because it creates mystery and can make them more scary. Ironically they wear an evil grin and horns to resemble the demons they’re killing, however in most cases the exterminators are far more evil than the sinners.
Secondly is that adam is obsessed with rock and metal. So he just thinks the spikes, horns and masks are cool so he wants his army to resemble him.
And lastly lute’s and Adam’s masks glitch twice during the show. This was because they broke their contract not to harm a hellborn. So perhaps if you break your divine contract you lose your status as an angel.
