Donkey Kong has been average character in Melee for awhile. He's by far not the worst, nor is he one of the best. In fact if he was given slight changes to his character, he probably would be pretty close to being viable if he had some changes given to him. Project M greatly changed the character for the better, now being ranked in the A+ tier, and being able to win Super Majors as well.
