47Why Enchanted is a Subversive Masterpiece. Disney's Enchanted (2007) is the most underrated masterpiece to ever be created. It's one of the best Disney Princess films, though it's often overlooked due to it being mostly live action. Thus, it is now considered a “Hidden Gem” or a “Cult Classic”. I'm here to talk about how, through Enchanted's music, characters and writing, it manages to both subvert expectations and make one of the best films Disney has ever been made and massacred by a sequel.
