Why Gamers Need To Push Back Against Steam Censorship
86Collective Shout, an Australian advocacy group, has somehow managed to pressure payment processors like VISA and Paypal into forcing Steam and Itch.io's hand and ban hundreds of sex games, quelling free speech in the name of women's safety. This is an anti-democratic, anti-free speech tactic that deserves mockery and pushback. Banning video games certainly doesn't actually help women or girls who face real world threats.
