Per Slightly Mad Studios' principle handling designer Nick Pope “By removing tyre wear and fuel usage we could in turn remove pitstops, which resulted in much closer and more consistent racing. Thus, the whole process of getting to the part that matters most—the actual racing and driving of these amazing cars and their upgrades—became a far easier and more streamlined affair."

The release date for Project CARS 3 is set for August 28th. In the build up to that day, developer Slightly Mad Studios has been revealing more and more about what the title will include, and much of the core elements of what makes a sim a true sim are going to be absent. In this video I make the case that this could actually work, since this focuses the game on short term racing and hotlapping, which is the core use of the previous titles.
