Why is Facebook disabling long-standing accounts with no explanation??

About a week ago I noticed that my account had been disabled and I was provided no explanation and had not posted anything that violated their terms/standards. I have been attempting to contact them in numerous ways to resolve the issue and have been met with silence. I then noticed that this was happening to others as well. I’ve reached out to [tech] publications on Twitter as well and they don’t seem to think this is a cause for concern either based on the lack of response I’ve been receiving. I also find it interesting that this shadiness is occurring right before an important presidential election year and I’m very political on #Facebook.
